The operating principle of diesel powered portable screw compressors is identical to that of screw compressors. With only the exception that the airend operates on a combustion engine instead of an electrical drive. As a result, the compressors are entirely independent from any electrical power sources and are, therefore, preferably used on construction sites.

The volume flow rate is freely selectable at a range from 1,0m³/min to 45, 3 m³/min; the pressure ranges between 7 and 35bar (depending on the type).
